I am Gyanendra Kumar, an artist born in Chandausi, a small town in Uttar Pradesh. Presently, I freelance from my studio at Dehradun, after having completed my service as Chief Artist at the Forest Research Institute.

I specialize in abstract art, my favourite mediums being oil and acrylic. I feel pride in being an alumnus of Santiniketan, and in having learnt abstract painting, sculpture and ceramics from High Wycombe College of Technology and Art, United Kingdom.

Nature has often been my inspiration for the forms that manifest in my art. Where most might notice the figurative in their environment, capturing the non-figurative gives me the ultimate sense of satisfaction.
