To be in the process of constant learning it is always important to seek the opinions of others – be it positive or negative. With this objective Kumar always showcased his work from time to time.
In India Kumar’s first one-man show was held by Indo-French Centre, Dehra Dun in 1970.

Another solo exhibition was organized under the banner of Indo-German Centre at the Max Mueller Bhavan, Banglore in 1971. Here Kumar’s creation ‘The Universe’ was displayed. It is simply an endless task ever pursued. This thirty foot long extravaganza releases into the atmosphere immense energy – one central idea, never exhausted, full of life and action.
His 1977 exhibition at the Gulfaam Gallery, Dehra Dun, inaugurated by the literary figure, Kamaleshwar was perhaps successful in creating a kind of a cultural awakening in the otherwise sleepy town of Dehradun.
A joint exhibition of paintings with wife, Pragya Rashmi, was inaugurated by Smt. Vimla Sharma, wife of the then President of India, Dr. S.D. Sharma. This was organized at Azad Bhavan, Indian Council for Cultural Relations, New Delhi.
The chief guests with the artists
There were other exhibitions at New Delhi, Calcutta, Dehra Dun, Varanasi, Moradabad etc. However, the most recent recognition of his work was surely well deserved when he was invited by the All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society, New Delhi, to be honored for his invaluable contribution to the field of art. His work was on display at the Gallery in March 2010. He humbly received the honor from none other than his own senior at Shantiniketan, Shri.A.Ramachandran.
