A good teacher can teach his pupil to correctly perceive and then learning comes as an experience. Kumar was fortunate to have such gurus.
His teachers there were mainly Nandlal Bose and Ram Kinkar Baij. Although by that time Bose had retired from his post of the Principal of Kala Bhavan, yet Kumar was keen on learning something from Master Moshai. Kumar recalls his association with the great master with immense fondness.
Kinkar da, as he was fondly called at Shantiniketan was the Head of the Department of Sculpture of Kala Bhavan at that time and it was fortunate for Kumar to be guided by him. He had a unique way of imparting education and one could learn a lot by simply being close to him.
It was at Santiniketan only that Kumar got a chance to meet Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Dr. Radhakrishanan.
